Carmelle Pretzlaw - 1st Violin
Regina violinist Carmelle Pretzlaw received years of musical training from Regina’s Conservatory of Music with various teachers, including Elman Lowe and Dr. Howard Leyton-Brown. She earned her bachelor of arts from Trinity Western University, and her master’s degree in violin performance from the University of Regina where she studied with Ed Minevich. She has performed and recorded with multiple Saskatchewan artists: Poor Nameless Boy, Jason Plumb, Jeffery Straker, Belle Plaine, Danny Olliver, Nick Faye, Scott Richmond, and Indigo Joseph. She enjoys collaborating with members of her string quartet, Pile of Bows String Quartet, in performing and arranging popular music. Carmelle’s other musical pursuits include playing violin with the Regina Symphony Orchestra and with Mariachi Latino, teaching violin and viola at Briercrest College, and playing bass guitar at church. By day, Carmelle works at SK Arts as an administrative coordinator.
